It Always Feels So Final

That "confirm" button on the travel websites... it always makes me feel like I can officially get excited about a trip once I've clicked on it. South Eastern USA here I come!

My first time a Women's Retreat. We spent time talking about how big God is. He is way big. And we are way tinier. My dear roommates for the weekend and I, standing in front of our doll house cabin of great cuteness.
Today's addition to the household: a baby Dogwood tree. It is also tiny.

Stuck in Traffic

(Don't worry, I wasn't actually really driving when I took these pictures: I was sitting still for approximately 10 minutes at a time before crawling a head ever so slightly.)

From the Intelligence of

You know how gmail has side bar links to sites allegedly related to the key words or subjects of your emails? Well, I was in my spam box deleted the 1020 spam emails that had accrued over the last oh.. day and a half, when I noticed this link:
Savory Spam Crescents - Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

AHHhhhh!!!

Spring Days

It's true that I've never called Spring my favorite season, but it's also true that pretty much nothing beats a spring day where the sky is half dark grey and half sunny blue for taking color pictures. Mm mmm mm.

My Streets

Today on my run I saw:

a dead bird
a half a toy
a football
a pile of fish tank rocks
a varying assortment of candy wrappers
a smashed Jones soda can
a lot of cigarette butts
a pen
a windshield wiper
a giant puddle shaped like a canoe
a part of a Rockstar energy drink can
a few rocks, pine cones, and flower petals

I went on the same run two days ago and saw none of these things. I wonder if they weren't there or if I simply wasn't paying attention. I wonder what else I miss.

A Little Wrong

It's amazing what you can find on the internet when you aren't looking. All I wanted was a picture of a Ritz crackers box and I ended up with this image. Ahhh hahahaha!

Le Weekend

It's been a busy week/end - Spring quarter, the Schrecks in town, Good Friday and Easter... pretty crazy. Crazy and fun. I don't know why it surprises me to think back over the weekend and see that life sort of revolves around food. Of course, as a Baptist, I've always known that church revolves around food (but hey, Jesus was down with that - think of the miracles of food/bev, the feasts, the last supper, etc.) - Easter being no exception. We did not join in the church food festivities of the day, but rather went home for a lovely mostly traditional dinner. Also, in showing the Schrecks around the Portlander haunts, I became more keenly aware of the different aspects of Portland cuisine. And, as the Schrecks were made aware, I have to think especially hard to come up with appropriately located cafes and coffee shops that are interesting but not too weird.
Here we have Josh and Emily eating Tilamook ice cream in Cannon Beach (Emily's first experience of Marionberry Pie ice cream!), and Josh with the siren.
