:Glares at Stuart:

Is it bad for an English major to hate writing?
I cannot do it anymore. No more words. No more sentences. No more thesaurus.com.
I have spent at least 30 hours since Thursday attempting to write three papers. Are they complete? Are they worth reading? No. One is in draft form, which is okay... doesn't have to be finished till Friday. One is in some hideous state of incompletion and is due Wednesday. The other is a re-write and I fear it is worse than the first.
It's 10:30pm and I'm excited I can take a break (since the writing portion of my brain is shut down). But what is there to do? I don't even remember anymore.
Oh yeah - there's Candide and Shadowed Lives to read for tomorrow and Tuesday, perspectively.
Sigh.

Wow. You do a lot sis!
I thought about describing the last 10 years of Manchester United's League performance, in the middle of my paper on Prayer. But then decided against it.
You could write about your experiences in England and Austria instead. You might get some consolatory marks.
I remember handing in an apple with a paper once to get a better mark. It was only a joke, but my teacher found it funny. Try it, but not with money. Apparently you get in trouble.

In high school I had a teacher who didn't read his papers. Many of my friends wrote two paragraphs and then copied and pasted. It was ok cause he was one of the better teachers. All the good ones in my high school somehow taught without gobs of writing.

Does the horrific non stop violence in Candide stop getting to you after a while? :shudders: We were discussing in class today how interesting it is that sweet happy little Candide kills what... 5 people?
It is quite brilliant, though, it's true. And laugh out loud funny at times. The part about the sounds of the soldiers towards the beginning? "Such a sweet sound as was never even heard in hell"?
Mmm... I remember: I borrowed The Giver from you at Cwray.
btw, if you've read "Tartuffe" by Moliere wana give me a summary? Hehe. That's next unless we get to talk about Voltaire more on wednesday...

You're an english major? I thought you were doing art something or other, you know, because you're so stinking good at it.

Allison Allison Allison. I think we can relate on the not wanting to do any more work. My only problem is that I haven't put 30 hours of work into what I have to do. Mine is more like... well, we won't get into that. I guess I'm getting by for 18 credits. So I'm officially into the blogging scene. Hope all is going well. I shall begin my letter to start the train back up. (wow, don't you think it would be fun to just hop one of those for a fall break sometime?)
